absolutely gorgeous wedding day filled with fun at Mickleton hills farm…

May the fourth be with you!

Bride and groom with sparklers at cotswold wedding

There’s only one thing you can do on May the 4th: enter your wedding breakfast wearing a Darth Vader mask! And that’s exactly what these two did. They soon whipped off the masks, kicked one into the air, and danced among all the people they love. Epic!

Mickleton Hills Farm is a gorgeous venue to celebrate your love with everyone around you. The ceremony room features the biggest windows, making it an absolute delight for photography. Add in the new getting-ready area, and my oh my, it’s the perfect space!

These two wanted a relaxed day, with the main goal of spending as much time with their loved ones as possible. I mean, when else do you have everyone you love in one place? With that in mind, we made sure everything was pre-planned from a photography perspective. I had my group photo list ready and all my timings set to ensure the day would run smoothly, allowing them to spend as little time with me as possible. But that’s really not as bad as it sounds; it gave me the opportunity to get creative and document their love story in all its glory.

They opted for a celebrant-led wedding, which was completely personalized to them. This adds so much to a ceremony; it becomes uniquely theirs and really engages everyone as stories are shared. It’s always nice to see a few tears, too. These two dashed out of the ceremony and straight into the sunshine, where they stayed for most of the afternoon. Absolute bliss!

I love speeches, especially when a woman, in this case, the bride! Gets up to say a few words. It’s refreshing to hear a different perspective on traditional speeches, and it adds something super special to that moment.

As the sun began to set, we dashed outside for five quick minutes to grab some gorgeous photos in the last of the light before heading back in for the dancing. This first dance was extra special, lifts, spins, laughter, and everyone joining in. Once the band finished, we had a sparkler send-off and a champagne spray. I left this wedding drenched, but oh my, it was worth it just to see the excitement on everyone’s faces!
