Why You Won’t See Me Posting BTS Footage at Your Wedding (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

Let’s be honest… Behind-the-scenes content is everywhere right now. You can’t scroll for more than a minute without seeing someone filming themselves at work, setting up a shot, or talking to camera while pretending not to be out of breath. And hey, I get it. I’ll happily snap a pic of my dinner (supplier meals deserve more airtime, frankly), or film a few seconds of a band absolutely smashing it. But when it comes to your wedding day? That’s where I draw the line.

Because your wedding day isn’t content.

It’s not a production.

It’s not a marketing moment.

It’s your day. A day you’ve probably poured your heart, soul, and a significant amount of thought into so everyone you love enjoys it. A day filled with your most favourite people, wearing their best clothes and crying into their Prosecco. A day where you’re allowed to be messy, joyful, emotional, chaotic… Your most authentic self.

And that deserves to be protected.

We live in a world that’s always online, always performing, always curating. But a wedding? That’s one of the last sacred, real spaces we’ve got. And I genuinely believe it should feel like a safe space. A bubble. A moment where you can be completely you, without worrying about what’s being filmed, posted, or shared.

I’m not at your wedding to capture content of me… I’m there to capture connection.

That means I won’t be filming myself setting up my gear. I won’t be narrating your confetti moment for Instagram. I won’t be pausing the joy to film a trending TikTok about lighting. Why? Because I’m too busy doing what I actually love… What you hired me to do. Watching, listening, noticing. Capturing the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stuff: the hug that lasts longer than usual, the look your mum gives you as you walk down the aisle, the way your best mate absolutely loses it during the speeches.

I’m not at your wedding to be visible. I’m there to see you.

So no, there won’t be much behind-the-scenes from me. But you’ll feel the results when you open your gallery. Photos full of joy, movement, magic and meaning.

Because that’s the stuff that actually matters.

And honestly? That’s what future you will thank me for.

Planning a wedding and want someone who’ll be fully in it with you… no distractions, no fuss, just real moments? Let’s chat. I’d love to hear all about your day.
