Ten years in the bizzzzz. four hundred and something weddings later…

Absolute madness that ten years ago I was a twenty something year old young mum with a five and two year old… who had a wild idea, a camera, and zero clue where it would all lead. Honestly, it could have flopped spectacularly. But I backed myself, and I’m so bloody glad I did.

Fast forward a decade, and somehow this thing I started during nap times and late-night editing marathons has become the thing. Over 400 weddings. Hundreds of amazing couples. So many emotional speeches, chaotic dance floors, and golden hour moments. And along the way? New friendships, deep belly laughs, and a totally different outlook on what really matters.

This job has changed me. It’s taught me to see beauty in the fleeting stuff, tiny glances, messy hugs, imperfect moments that end up meaning everything. It’s reminded me, again and again, how powerful photos are, not just for how they look, but for how they feel.

Trends have come and gone, some lovely, some… less so (IYKYK). But through it all, I’ve stuck to my roots: documenting the quiet, the wild, and everything in between. The messy, emotional, joyful bits that make a day yours.

I’ve had the privilege of shooting at some seriously incredible venues over the years. Winkworth Farm was the first to take a chance on me (forever grateful for that early vote of confidence), and since then I’ve added Cripps Barn, Stone Barn, Kingscote Barn, and The Old Gore to my ever-growing list of favourites.

That said, marquee and tipi weddings will always have my heart, there’s just something about that relaxed, festival vibe that feels like home to me. Give me fairy lights, a muddy field, and a couple dancing barefoot, and I’m in.

And while traditional church weddings are definitely becoming less common, I’ll always have a soft spot for belting out a classic primary school hymn. (“Shine Jesus Shine” anyone?) These days, I’m seeing more and more humanist ceremonies, and honestly? I’m here for it. They’re personal, heartfelt, and often beautifully unconventional, just like the couples I love to work with.

To every couple who’s trusted me to capture their day, thank you. Whether you booked me ten years ago when I was still figuring it all out, or more recently when I’d finally stopped turning up to weddings with a knot in my stomach (okay, most of the time), I’m so grateful.

Thank you for the laughs, the hugs, the emotional speeches that had me crying behind the camera, and for dancing like no one was watching (even though I absolutely was).

Here’s to the next chapter, new faces, new places, and more moments that make my heart skip. I’ve got no plans to slow down anytime soon, and if the last ten years are anything to go by… the best is still to come.

Let’s do this.
