This one’s probably for the wedding photographers….
Before weddings (and kids!) I did a lot of club photography. The dance floor will always be my happy place… and because of this I’ve never been shy of using flash in my work. I remember my first ever wedding. I came back buzzing from the dance floor so excited about what I’d just done. Edited a couple of my favorite photos from the dance floor and posted them in a photography group….
Then came the comments.
“Direct flash is lazy”
“these are terrible”
“you shouldn’t be allowed near a wedding until you’ve learnt flash…. “
Erm. Ok then. I’ll learn off camera flash. And so I did…
NOW DIRECT FLASH IS TRENDY. Jokes on you….
There’s always been a place for it in my work. I love it when the lights are low and the party gets wild. So here’s some of my favorite from twenty four when I stayed to party well INTO THE NIGHT!
Tech stuff… Canon R6. 24mm 1.4 Godox V1: ISO: 100-400 SS: 1/5 sec F: 7.1-9 Flash | 1/8 zoomed in as far as it will go with my trusty Magmod on top!
