Bristol, an amazing city! I would love to capture another wedding here, if your planning a totally awesome wedding like Katie & Nicks get in touch <3
Wedding Photography Pre-shoot | Cirencester Park
Naomi and Lee <3
This pair have been together since school, that's pretty cute in my eyes! And later this year they get to tie the knot, super exciting!
I met up with them on a sunny warm March afternoon for a chat and stroll around Cirencester park. The park is a beautiful space for photography, so many little nooks and crannies to explore making shoots more interesting than the "usual"...
Their gorgeous little girl came along too, she was good as gold! It's always good to throw in a few family photos for good measure...
So here they are, I cannot wait for the wedding in November <3
The Moonraker Hotel | Eva & James
March the 4th saw me head to the beautifully unique Moonraker Hotel just outside of Trowbridge, Wiltshire to share Eva and James rather dreamy wedding day...
The sun was shining, the girls where relaxed and the morning passed quickly. Full of chat and preparations. Mornings like these are my favourite, I love bridal prep. It's the part of the day I can be my most creative working with everyone to capture some truely beautiful moments and most importantly all the details that have been planned for so long and so perfectly.
Before we knew it, it was time for the bride to walk down the isle with her dad, who was extremely proud of his eldest daughter. Tears where shed, hugs where exchanged and James and Eva went on to say I do after a beautiful Shakespeare reading.
Everyone who surrounded the happy couple was full of joy and laughter as they greeted the new Mr and Mrs while enjoying a glass of bubbly and sharing some delicious nibbles served by the hardworking staff of the Moonraker.
It was soon time to move into the group photos, there where quite a few to get through! And amazingly (with a little help) we managed to get through them! Adding a bit of fun with the hen and stag parties! Time was short, but we managed to take a few minutes away so the bride and groom could be alone and have some photos together. I'd had my eye on the shed for a while, Eva and James where fearless and embraced my ideas which gave us some fun, yet romantic photographs of them alone together.
Food was eaten (which was delicious by the way!) stories where told, tears where shed and the laughter rolled all the way through the speeches. The sun set, the rain began, the cake was cut and the evening party started! Eva and James hit the dance floor as the new Mr and Mrs as everyone wached them dance to their song. A beautiful moment.
We'd planned something special, and when I saw the flurrying snow out the window I knew this was the perfect moment... Eva and James took my lead and now have a beautiful backlit photograph in the snow. Possibly one of my favourite wedding captures ever!!
To be apart of a day with two people who are so loved is an albsolute pleasure. My laid back style really paid off here and I am ready and raring to go for the rest of this wedding season!
Heres a few of my Favorites, congratulations Mr and Mrs McCloskey! Enjoy... <3
Gloucestershire Wedding Photography | FAQ
What's a pre-shoot? It's a fancy word for an engagement shoot really! But it is a great opportunity to get together before your wedding day and have some fun. We can take some photos of you together as a couple in a relaxed outdoor setting in or around Cirencester. It's great if your feeling nervous about being in front of the camera. It's also a fabulous way to get to know me and try out my photography style before you book.
How long do you stay for? Every wedding day is different. If you choose my full day wedding photography package I'll be with your right from your bridal preparations early in the morning until just after your first dance. It is a long day for me so while your eating I'll recharge and take some time out. Most people don't really want their photograph taken while eating... If your booking me for a half day I'll leave just before you sit down to eat.
Do we need to provide you with a meal? No, you don't have to. But if there's some going spare I'm not going to say no!
How far will you travel? For full day packages I'll travel up to 50 miles from my home town of Cirencester. Anything after that is charged at 45p per mile.
How many photos will we get? It's difficult to provide an exact amount for many reasons... The number of guests and of course the weather conditions can effect these numbers. I'm a story teller, so if it plays apart of the story and I'm happy with the quality, it's on your USB.
Why don't we get all the photos you take? Lots of photographs are taken, some are duplicates. Some you will have your eyes shut in, others you'll be pulling a face you'd rather not see! Some will be out of focus others will be under or over exposed (the day is so fast moving its impossible for this not to happen) My job as a photographer is to sift through these and give you the absolute best memories of your day. The files that I choose not to use are deleted once I have made my final selection and the edited photographs are moved onto an external hard drive and kept safe for the next year.
Are the images edited? They are indeed. I colour correct all my digital images in a way I see suitable, reflecting my style you see here on my website. Some will be in colour while others will be in black and white. I use a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop to do this. They are then put onto your USB in both high and low resolution. You can use the high resolution images for making prints and the low resolution ones are for sharing on social media. I do not put my name all over them. They are for you to enjoy.
Do you take formal photos? Yes, unless you really don't want me too! Although I work in a documentary style I do feel these shots are important. They are often requested by mums and dads as they expect a more traditional style of photography. They are also a nice keepsake as its not very often that you are all together as a family. I do suggest that you keep your list to around ten must haves, this stops the whole day revolving around them.
Can you provide prints? Yes! Once your images are edited I'll send you a link to an online gallery. This gives you access to a professional lab to order a variety of prints or framed prints.
We'd love an album... If you decide you'd like an album made then we can work together on this. I offer two different sized fine art albums with 15 spreads (30 pages) and the option to add on parents albums. If you'd like to order one I'll sit down with you over a coffee and we can pick out all your Favorites. I'll then send you a proof of your album and once your happy I'll send it off to be printed and delivered to you within six weeks.
Are there any hidden costs? No! Absolutely not, the prices you see are the prices you pay.
Are you insured? Yup! I most certainly am. I have both public liability and public indemnity insurance.
Do you have backup equipment? I most defiantly do. I'm a canon girl. I mainly shoot with my 5D Mark iii, but I do have two other cameras, spare lenses, extra batteries, more than enough memory cards, a tripod, light stand and a couple of flash guns. My bag is pretty heavy and full to the brim!
Will you use our photographs on your website? More than likely, yes! I'm pretty proud of what I create and I love to show it off on my Facebook page and blog. But I also understand that not everyone wants there faces all over the Internet, if you'd like to keep your images private just let me know and I will not post them.
How/when do we book you? 2017 is filling up fast, I also have lots of enquiries for 2018. So if you like what you see and are intreasted in my services do get in touch soon to find out if your wedding date is available. If it is I'll arrange to meet you for a coffee and we will take it from there.
Do you need a deposit? To secure you wedding date I do require a £250 deposit within 7 days of booking. The outstanding balance is then due a minimum of 14 days before the big day.
We have more questions... That's not a problem, fire away! I'm more than happy to help in any way I can.
Gloucestershire Wedding Photography | My Favorites From 2015
2015 was an incredible year for me both as a person and as a photographer, it was full of amazing opportunities that have taught me so much.
First and foremost I have learnt that I am a documentary wedding photographer. I work in a reportage style telling the story as it unfolds. Story telling is something I love and enjoy, I do throw in some posed family shots for good measure and encourage my Brides and Grooms to take some time out alone to let me document them together as a married couple for the first time. I'm a sucker for a hazy black and white image, but I've also learnt that I love colour in a new way.
To all my 2015 couples, thank you! And to all my 2016/17 couples, I cannot wait to start making memories with you!
Im busy working on a sample album at the moment ready to launch this spring... Everything is coming together and I'm so excited!
Here are just a few of my highlights from last years weddings... Enjoy!
Gloucestershire Wedding Photography | What's Next...
Hopefully your here because you love what you see, I want to make it as easy and as stress free as I can for you. So heres a little guide to what happens when you book me... If you have any questions please get in touch! I'm more than happy to help. My pricing is simple and uncomplicated, the prices you see are what you pay, there's no hidden extras.
Booking a wedding photographer can be a daunting task with so many options in a very competitive market. My biggest piece of advice would be to choose someone you get on with, who ever you choose will be in your personal space for a lot of your day, the better you get on the more relaxed you will be...
We like what we see... Perfect! Get in touch... Simply fill out the booking form at the bottom of this page and I'll check the date is available for you! Once I’ve confirmed the date is available let’s get together over tea and cake and chat about your big day! This is also a great time to book in for a couples shoot if your feeling a little nervous about being in front of the camera!
We'd love to book you... If you'd like to secure your date I’ll need a £350 booking fee within 7 days of meeting. I will send you a copy of my contract and my bank details for a transfer. As soon as it has been received I'll send written confirmation... Its that simple! If you'd like to read through my contract before we meet, let me know and I'll send it over.
When will we here from you? If you need to speak to me about anything then PLEASE get in touch, if your wedding is a while away then you won't know all the details straight away. But as your planning unfolds keep me up to date and ask any questions! I'm always happy to help in any way that I can
6 weeks to go… Your wedding day is getting closer! I'll email you around this time to get a timeline of your day so I can begin planning how we can fit your photography in around everything. I will also need a list of formal photographs from you with names. I'd suggest keeping your list to less than 10 to avoid your whole day having formal shots, but if you need more thats fine! Its your big day... I find these are the most requested group shots:
Bride and Groom with both sets of parents
Bride and Groom with grandparents
Bride and Groom with bridesmiads
Bride and Groom with groomsmen
Bride with Bridesmaids
Groom with Groomsmen
Bride and Groom alone (we will schedule some time to sneak off and do these so nobody is watching!)
Everyone
To help this run smoothly (and so it doesn't take too long) I do ask if a member of the wedding party (a groomsman is usually ideal) can be on hand to help me find the correct people for the photographs! Also include any must have photographs, things that I may not be aware of, such as an old family heirloom or piece of jewellery that might be really important to you.
Around the week before! Ok… I’m getting very excited as I expect you are! I'll send you another email, confirming times and a little nudge that your remaining balance is due. If any details have changed please let me know.
Your WEDDING day! I shoot with two cameras (Canon 5D Mark iii) I'm a prime lens kind of girl (I find them much sharper and give that creamy dreamy blurry background you see in so many of my photos)... I won't bore you with my geekyness, but if you want to know more just ask! My batteries are always fully charged, as are the backups. Everything is cleaned, packed and ready to go... – I’m prepared. I CANNOT wait to get there and start making the most precious memories for you. All you have to do is enjoy it.
After the big day… Over the next few weeks I’ll be going through the photographs taken, there will be quite a few out-takes. I don't limit the amount of photographs I give you, if they play a part of your story they'll be there, the amount shown in each package is the minimum amount you will receive. The ones I decide to use will be individually edited using Lightroom and Photoshop in a mix of colour and black and white, each image will then be added to your USB.
Before the USB is posted I will email you with a link to your gallery and you can send this to family and friends as you wish. You will have the rights to reproduce your photographs for personal use only as many times as you wish (as stated in our contract)
Albums and parent albums can be created by myself if you wish.
Album Prices...
10x10 fine art album with 15 spreads (30 pages) with gorgeous leather cover in a choice of colours | £350
6x6 parent album with a beautiful fabric cover (duplicate of the main album) | £150
Like what you see? I'd love to hear from you...
Manor By the Lake | Claire & Hayley
When the amazing Noel of Cotswold Pictures asked me to second shoot for him, how could I say no? The gorgeous Manor By The Lake was the perfect venue.
I arrived early and was absolutely taken away by the venue, Hayley gave me a quick tour before her hair was done, this gave me the perfect chance to get to know a little more about the happy couple.
I stayed with Hayley throughout the morning while Noel was with Claire. After that I became his shadow, learning, watching, observing. It's amazing to see how others do things, and Noel makes it look so effortless!
The day taught me so much, and if I was to asked to do it again, I'd do it in a shot! If your looking into becoming a wedding photographer or even wanting to know a little more about it I'd defiantly recommend second shooting, it's an amazing experience!
The Clifton Club | Polly & Jack
After a Christmas Engagement these two quickly got to work on planning the most gorgeous wedding day in Septemeber of this year.
Held at the rather beautiful Clifton Club in Bristol and just a 5 minute drive from the suspension bridge this was a day I was really excited about!
Polly and Jack are both super cool and super relaxed, this echoed throughout the entire day allowing all the guests to fully enjoy themselves.
Every detail of this wedding was perfectly planned, Pollys choice of flowers where absolutely devine! Teamed with a simple yet very unique wedding dress Polly looked absolutely stunning and played the role of the bride very well! Jack and his grooms men wore matching tweed suits, all in all everything was just perfect! Port, cheese and plenty of prosecco made this a truely beautiful day!
The Bear Hotel | Gemma & Neil
The Bear Hotel in Devizes was the perfect setting for a gorgeous September wedding. Again, blessed by the weather, Gemma and Neil became husband and wife.
The whole day was full of laughter, fun and smiles. Possibly the most relaxed of all the weddings I have photographed this year. The day was very intimate, with no stressing about group photos, children running around and enjoying themselves and some local beer going down well! The character of the building really excited me so I dragged the bride and groom out to a beautiful red brick wall along with their son for some all important family photos!
The day quickly drew to an end for me as the sunset around us and I left the happy new Mr and Mrs partying the night away!
Hilles House | Rosie & Matt
I try not to have favourites. But for me, this wedding stands out the most from this summer. I'd met the couple at the amazing Hilles House a couple of months prior to their August wedding and had immediately fallen in love with the venue. Team that with an amazingly laid back loved up couple and you just know this is going to be amazing!
I arrived early on the most beautiful summers morning, the sun was out, the views where stunning, I was so excited. Hilles house is a magical venue set in the heart of the Cotswold country side, full with old antiques and beautiful tapersries hanging from the walls. So much character throughout the venue!
The couple married in the stunning hall at the centre of the house surrounded by loving family and friends. The ceromomy was gorgeous as all eyes where on the rather tearful bride and groom. The guests where taken into the garden as the wedding party left the room to take a breather before being surrounded by everyone. This was the perfect time for the new Mr and Mrs to take in what had just happened and for me to capture some truely stunning photos of there first time alone.
Soon they where welcomed by the throwing of confetti, a much needed glass of pimms and some time to catch up with all their guests! Once the group photos where complete we all moved over to the beautifully decorated marquee where the couple and their guests had the most delicious buffet indulging in exotic burgers and salads!
Soon it was time for the speeches, which had us all in a mixture of laughter and tears. There was so much love for this couple, and an absolute pleasure to be apart of it.
With some gentle persuasion I managed to get the couple to hike up a rather steep hill to a beautiful field of wheat where the couple naturally embraced each other and I managed to capture some truely beautiful moments. The day was quickly running out, the sun was setting and Rosie and Matt agreed that we needed to use that sunset! I'm so glad these two trusted me and my instincts to capture some of the most amazing photos of my wedding season. I cannot thank these two enough...
Cricklade House | Sam & Liam
The night before this wedding I looked out the window in horror... It was an utter wash out with more rain predicted. I was nervous to say the least... Everything we had planned was planned outside (including the ceromomy!!!)
But! Something amazing was on the bride and grooms side, I woke early that morning to beautiful sunshine flooding in through the window. Immediately I felt so much more confident in the day ahead. Sunshine always makes me happier!
I arrived at the hotel to meet Sam and her bridesmaids. We laughed, joked and I snapped away during their preparations. As the boys arrived I dashed over to the other side of the hotel to capture their arrival and and quick change into their suits.
Before we knew it it was time for Sam and Liam to become husband and wife, her dad walked her down the isle, you could see the pride in his face. A gorgeous outdoor wedding... Under an ivory covered canopy. The sun shined. The guests laughed. The ceremony was perfect.
The day quickly passed, group photos where done. Casuals where taken. It was time to eat, drink and relax!! The speeches where emotional yet funny, a fabulous mixture! The day passed quickly and suddenly the new Mr and Mrs where called to the dance floor. Once I'd snapped that, my job was done and I left them to enjoy the rest of their evening <3
